Your keys
Your keys are the only thing that can find your payments or claim them. They are created on your device and never sent anywhere. Your passkey or password unlocks them, and that is the only way back in.
When you make your account you are given recovery codes. They are the replacement key for the day you change phones or lose the device. Store them somewhere you would keep something important, and not in the same place as the device they protect.
If you lose both the device and the codes, the payments you have not claimed yet cannot be found again. That is the honest cost of keys nobody else holds, including us.
